GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Evaluates and manages patients’ Plan of Care in Physical Therapy Office. Administers treatment plan to restore and optimize functional movement utilizing manual skills, exercise prescriptions, physical agents and medical devices. Communicates with patients, doctors and staff for best practice and efficient services. Strives for optimal outcomes.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques of physical therapy including manual therapy. Knowledge of how to use and maintain physical therapy equipment. Fitness levels adequate to practice good body mechanics. Willing to maintain professional knowledge through continued education. Knowledge of safety requirements. Skill in writing reports, preparing correspondence, and keeping patient care records. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Skill in identifying and recommending problem resolution. Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data. Ability to communicate clearly.
Education: Graduation from accredited P.T. Education Program and successful grade from the California PT licensing exam.
Experience: Supervised clinical internship to prepare for professional registration.
License: License to practice physical therapy in the state of California if not a new graduate.
